Phase One IQ Firmware 5.11.36 Update

Phase One has released Firmware version 5.11.36 for IQ series digital backs.

Firmware version 5.11.36 will run on IQ140, IQ160, IQ180, IQ260, IQ260 Achromatic and IQ280. This firmware provides significantly improved system stability together with the latest firmware for Phase One 645DF+ (v2.24) and 645DF (v1.57 or v1.25). Furthermore the firmware contains some quality improvement to tethered Live View on both IQ1 and IQ2 platform, as well as some new features.*

*This firmware does not add new features or improvements to the IQ250 (IQ250 firmware version 1.00.2 is currently at same feature level).


After our initial testing, this firmware is CI approved and recommended for use. Please contact us if you have any questions regarding this update. Read on below for more details regarding the update and some of its new features.

To install the 5.11.36 firmware update, you need to use the Firmware Updater available from Phase One’s website or put the 5.11.36 firmware on a blank CF card and install from the Digital Back’s menu.

New Features:

  1. It is now possible to power on/off the digital back only using the Phase One 645DF+ power button.
    • Turn on a DF+ body and it automatically power up the IQ digital back.
      *We have noticed in our testing that occasionally the back will not recognize the DF+ powering on. Phase One is aware of this and working on a fix.
    • Turn off power on the 645DF+ and the IQ back will enter a power-down sequence and turn of after 10 seconds, unless it is interrupted manually in the visible count down dialog.
    • Disabling this feature can be accessed from the Power Management menu.
  2. Live View in Capture One is now available when connected both via USB3 and FIreWire
  3. Location data (GPS tagging of images) is now possible on IQ2xx when connected with Capture Pilot version 1.5 or later
  4. New Custom grid option is available in Live View on the digital back.

Issues Fixed:

  1. Chinese character set error fixed
  2. French language updated with new features translation
  3. Host capture is now possible with the Phase One Mamiya RZ67 Pro II Adapter (for Hasselblad V mounted backs)
