Ever wondered if Multi-Shot digital backs truly out resolve single shot digital backs? Would an 80 megapixel single shot back have the ability to come close to a 50 megapixel multi-shot? Yeah, but have you ever actually shot one against another in a controlled situation? And how big of a role do the raw processing engines play against each other in this situation? We searched online and were shocked to see the lack of any good tests with one versus another. No problem. Here it is. And please remember that we are unbiased testers. We are not going to make judgements or define a winner. Very importantly with all of our tests, we are here just to show an comparison. We leave it up to you to decide which system is superior. The raws are linked below.

- Capture One 7.1.3 drove the Leaf Aptus II-12
- Phocus V2.7.4 drove the H4D-50MS
- An LCC was applied to the Leaf Aptus II-12 for evenness of light
- Both cameras were mounted on a Cambo Copy Stand
- Distance from the chart/painting to the image plane was 132cm
- Resolution Chart Dimensions: 79cm X 41cm
- Painting Dimensions: 71cm X 56cm
* Single shot mode was also used with the Hasselblad H4D-50MS. However, comparing the 50mp vs. 80mp was not a fair comparison. If you would like a link to this file then please drop us a line and will gladly send you the download link.
