When upgrading to a newer Capture One software, we recommend that you do a clean uninstall and then install the latest version Capture One version.

By default the User Library folder is hidden in the Mac OS. In order to completely uninstall Capture One 6, you will need to follow the additional steps listed below:

1. The first thing  you will need to do is deactivate Capture One so you will have a free license to use on a new computer, or the same machine with updated software or hardware. This can be done by navigating to: Capture One>License…>Click Deactivate. 

2. Quit Capture One, if running.

3. Drag the application to the trash: HD>Applications>Capture One

4. Delete the Library file located here: HD>Users>Pictures>Capture One Library>CaptureOne.col (Capture one.col45 for version 4, and CaptureOne.col50 for version 5)

5. Go to the User Library folder form Finder by selecting: Go>Go to Folder… then enter the folder destination: “~/Library”    

    

6. Delete the Preferences files located here:

User>Library>Preferences>com.phaseone.captureone.plst

and…

User>Library>Preferences>com.phaseone.captureone.LSSharedFileList

7. Delete the Applications Support Folders…. If you plan to reinstall Capture One, only delete the Batch Queue folder within the Capture One Directory. If you do not plan to reinstall Capture One, delete the entire Capture One Directory:

User>Application Support>Capture One> Batch Queue
