Two Arca Swiss Cubes

Cube on Cube Action

The Arca Swiss Cube is the world’s finest (and most expensive) photographic tripod head. Only those truly dedicated to their art/passion/work would invest in one. So why would you need two?? Well, I wrote an article, mostly for fun, over at getdpi.com (read the article) about why you would need two. Big thanks to Charles Brown, one of our very talented customers, and a forum member of getdpi.com for the … Read More →

What its all about………

Do you work to live or live to work? It’s a simple answer on my end. If I were asked what my favorite word was in the English language, it would take me seconds to pronounce “dad”. After reading Ralph Waldo Emerson as a young adult I have never been the same. These words keep me grounded. I pull them out and read them after a tedious day or a … Read More →

Steve's 1st Blog at Capture Integration

So I decided to eat at Bobby & Junes Country Cooking in Atlanta on 14th street today for lunch despite the fact they pull together the BBQ sandwiches with bare fingers – does that make me a wussie? Anyway, it’s always delicious as long as you don’t peer into the kitchen prep area. I’m very happy to be at Capture Integration, we’ve been friendly competitors over the years and it’s … Read More →

New Orleans

I was driving through New Orleans in the blistering heat when I noticed a peculiar site on the side of the road. All of the people buried are above ground. Not that I am morbid, but the above ground tombs were rather intriguing and beautiful. I took out the P65+ / Phase 645 w/ 80mm and hand held to shoot. The tonal quality & range is amazing!

Steve Hendrix and I recently visited my old alum, Daytona State College. We demonstrated the power and versatility of Phase One DBs and Capture One Pro 4.7. It was a great to see all of my former instructors … and the Piccadilly lunch! I found out it’s a DSC tradition. I wanted to thank everyone for their hospitality. I also visited Anna Tomczak, another former instructor, at her studio in … Read More →

The Best Part of iPhone 3.0

Apple just anounced their new iPhone OS 3.0 software will be available this summer as a free update to all iPhone users. One small but awseome feature has gotten barely a whisper. MacRumors.com reports: “Find my iPhone/iPod Touch” option available under MobileMe, which presumably allows you to locate your iPhone from Me.com Let’s speculate on three uses: I lose my phone all the time. Sometimes I left it at home. … Read More →

What the Font on the iPhone

What the Font is a website that lets you take a screen grab of text and identify the font used. They now have an iPhone app you can use to take a picture of a magazine, book, etc and identify the font used. If this doesn’t excite you then you are not as big a design geek as I am. http://www.macrumors.com/iphone/2009/02/11/whatthefont-comes-to-iphone/

A week in Miami

img_0512-2-blog.jpg

I spent this past week covering the Miami office while Doug was attending the Get DPI workshop in Moab.  The weather was picture perfect and the highs were in the 80s and lows in only the 50s.  With such great weather I happily walked everywhere the entire week.  It was quite nice to be able to walk down Ocean Drive and pick up a cafe con leche on the commute. On … Read More →
