APA: Resolve to Connect

Wednesday night APA Atlanta hosted a “Resolve to Connect” event. APA Atlanta Held at Big Studio, the idea was for all elements of the photographic community – photographers, assistants, food, prop, makeup, wardrobe stylists, digital techs, retouchers and models – to get together, connect with each other, network, get some face time. And…it worked! Upwards of 40+ members of Atlanta’s APA community turned out. There was food, music, but mostly, just … Read More →

First Look-Broncolor Senso & Litos

When it comes to photographic strobe equipment, two manufacturers have traditionally stood at the top of the industry in terms of quality, features, system expandability, and naturally, cost: ProFoto and Broncolor. While the high end of the Broncolor line has more than held it’s own in competition with ProFoto high end products, the entry level category has been a walk-off home run for ProFoto with the success of the Acute … Read More →

New and Old Canon 70-200/2.8 IS

I did a quick comparison of the new Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 IS Version II vs the Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 IS Version II e I was told the new IS technology provides up to 4 stops hand-holdability. I thought, yeah, right. So, I zoomed to 200mm, set it 1/15th of a second and shot it alongside our Version I. Color me convinced! We ordered a bunch on the spot. If anyone … Read More →

Phase One P40+ vs 5DMKII: ISO 800

For some time, I’ve wondered how the Phase One P40+ would handle high ISO in the Sensor Plus mode. In Sensor Plus mode, the P40+ produces a 10 megapixel file (40 megapixels at normal full rez mode). The Phase One P65+ also utilizes Sensor Plus technology and produces a 15 megapixel file in Sensor Plus mode (60 megapixels at normal full rez mode). I decided to do a basic comparison … Read More →
