Both lenses have their advantages and disadvantages. The Phase One AF 75-150mm lens is relatively small in size. Weighing in around 2.5lbs, you can easily carry it around.  The newer Phase One 75-150 LS lens is rather large and weight about 4lbs.

The Phase One 75-150 LS lens has a maximum aperture of f/ 4.0 compared to the maximum aperture of f/ 4.5 on the non LS version. The LS lens will give you a third of a stop more light wide open. However, the lens is designed with a sliding aperture – meaning that when you zoom in your focal length your maximum aperture will start to decrease. When zoomed all the way in at 1500mm, the LS version has a maximum aperture of f/5.6. The non LS version has a fixed aperture so you can have f/4.5 even when zoomed in all the way.

A nice feature of the Phase One 75-150 LS lens is a locking mechanism which gives you the ability to lock down your focal length. The locking mechanism is located on the focal length ring, simply slide the ring forward to lock. This feature is helpful especially when shooting downwards since bigger lenses are more prone to drift.
