This just in, the intimidatingly large Phase One Schneider 240mm LS f/4.5 has just arrived and is now available it both rental and for purchase.
The 240mm is the longest telephoto lens made for Phase One, it’s focal length combined with near silent auto focusing makes it an ideal lens for Wildlife photography (or the occasional people watching).
For comparison I have included weight of other similar popular lenses as well some side by side lens comparisons:
Phase One 240mm = 3.4 lbs
Hasselblad 210mm = 2.9 lbs
Hasselblad 50-110mm = 3.6 lbs
So as you can see the lens is heavy but not the heaviest out there for it being the biggest telephoto in Phase One’s line up. When the built-in hood is extended the lens becomes over a foot in length nearly and becomes astoundingly capacious. Check out some images below:
