This past weekend, I got an opportunity to take a Phase One IQ260 and the Mamiya MF 120mm Macro lens. I got up nice & early to shoot a early morning sunrise photo of the Atlanta skyline, and decided at the last minute to switch to this lens. While I did not have a very interesting sky that morning, I am blown away by the sharpness of the resulting images. This image in particular was photographed at 50 ISO, with an exposure time of 1 second at f/16 after engaging mirror lockup. I initiated the capture from Capture Pilot on my iPhone wirelessly connected to the IQ260. Only default sharpening from Capture One has been applied to the image.
IQ260 + Mamiya 120mm MF Macro, 1s @ f/16, 50 ISO. Red outline is the cropped section seen below.
same shot, 100% crop
The sharpness of this and the other images I shot is quite impressive, even without much additional sharpening. I’m eager to continue seeing what this back/lens combination can accomplish.
