As part of a technical collaboration begun in 2013, Hasselblad has integrated the software development kit (SDK) for EIZO’s ColorEdge monitors into Phocus 2.8, the latest version of Hasselblad’s image processing software.
Phocus 2.8 activates the built-in calibration sensor housed inside select ColorEdge monitors. This allows photographers using Hasselblad cameras and ColorEdge monitors to view and edit photos as well as calibrate their monitors with just one piece of software and no external calibration device. “We are delighted that Hasselblad is utilizing the self-calibration capability of our ColorEdge monitors and that together, we are able to give photographers a simplified workflow from shoot to digital display,” said Lucas Zastrow, Product Manager, Display Solutions. “Providing our own SDK assists manufacturers like Hasselblad to blend their software’s functionality seamlessly with our monitors, enabling our customers to work more easily and smarter.”

Phocus 2.8
The latest version of Hasselblad’s Phocus imaging software for both Mac OS and Windows is now available, with a number of clever new features to help photographers work quickly, efficiently and creatively with the world’s most advanced image files.
Capture Sequencer
New for Phocus 2.8 is the Capture Sequencer. This new tool will allow you to easily execute various kinds of capture automation actions when your camera is connected to Phocus.
Typical uses include bracketing, self-timer and interval captures. There are various built-in presets, but the tool is very flexible and allows you to setup your own combinations of initial delay, repeated captures and ring around exposures as well as varying the aperture and shutter speed. These can then be saved as custom presets for later recall.
Landscape Compare Mode
In addition to the existing side-by-side comparison, users can now switch to a mode that works better for images in landscape format.
Hasselblad L* Working Space
The Reproduction tool will now let users select a new Hasselblad L* working space as an alternative to Hasselblad RGB. This is particularly suited to reproduction work where the L* gradation is commonly used, but will also function as an all-purpose photographic working space which is specially tuned to Hasselblad cameras.
