CI Gatherings

The world is different today.  We literally communicate at the speed of light.  Individuals interact with each other across the globe at all hours of the day through keyboard strokes.  Business is conducted without hearing a single voice or having physical interaction.  Entire relationships are formed over the years through electronic mail and messages.  And while the electronic age has created opportunities that are truly amazing, I strongly believe we are missing something crucial, something deeper.

I am fortunate to have clients from all over the globe.  We talk online about gear or software or workflow.  We connect on Facebook and make personal comments about each other’s lives.  It gives me joy seeing their professional and personal journeys. And over time, I feel like we truly “know” each other.  However, it’s just a surface level.   Nothing has given me a deeper fulfillment than meeting my clients in person and sharing a coffee at the local shop, meeting them to shoot for a few hours at a beautiful location, or just sitting down and having dinner and conversation.   While I am thankful of the technology in our lives that allowed us to connect initially… it is the “one on one” bonding in person that truly solidifies friendships and long term relationships.

And this is why we have decided to try something new. Capture Integration team members are traveling to photograph some of our favorite locations around the country.  Places that are our personal favorites and meaningful.  We are spending long weekends shooting, laughing, breaking bread, and just enjoying life.   And we want you to join us.

This is not a workshop.   This is not a paid event.  This is enjoying life and our interests.  This is a human connection.

This is Gatherings.

Here is what our Clients Are Saying About CI Gatherings

“Enhancing my skill set is a given when I’m shooting with Dave. Even the most casual comment from Dave can lead me to think and consider something different or new to add to my skills. I learn something from Dave every time I shoot with him.”

-Jeffery Litell

“I enjoyed meeting like-minded photographers in a relaxed and low key environment. Even though there were plenty of photographic opportunities, at no time did we rush from one location to another? Brad did an excellent job organizing the event. It was also nice to have Phase One present. I definitely plan to attend another Gatherings event.”

-Steven Barger

The CI “gathering” was the perfect blend of great scenic locations, excellent technical support and great shooters with common values.”

– David Rogers

I love shooting in this area of the country due to the variety of locations we can hit in just a weekend.  Want to shoot some art deco architecture in Palm Springs?  How about the decay and disintegrating communities around the Salton Sea?  Have you seen the color and overall uniqueness that is Slab City?  All of these opportunities add to the beauty that exists inside of Joshua Tree National Park and this area.  I Plan on shooting a night scene at the park and fill the weekend full of fun, gorgeous, sad, and exciting locations.  Won’t you join me?

Titles and labels belong on books and soup cans respectively. To me they don’t make the man, his reputation and integrity do. My most important job is being the best father I can to Aidan, McKenna, and Emma and giving them the best foundation for happiness and success in life. And to attempt to give my wife a fraction of the joy that she has brought to me and our family.

Great things about Sun Valley!

1.1 Million Acres of protected land and wilderness with a wide variety of beautiful photographic opportunities. America’s only Gold-tier UNESCO Dark Sky Reserve. Home to Craters of the Moon National Monument (where Apollo astronauts trained for the moon landing). The Orgeon Trail. Wildlife includes Wild Horses, Mountain Goats. 6 distinct mountain ranges; Big Lost, Pioneer, Smoky, Boulder, Sawtooth, and White Cloud. And yet, there are plenty of modern accommodations in Ketchum, Idaho, food, lodging, etc. A perfect photographic destination.

Steve (& Brad) Will Meet You in Sun Valley:

Steve Hendrix, National Accounts Manager

Steve has built an international reputation as a straight-shooting expert on high-end photographic solutions and workflows. As an industry analyst and hands-on user, Steve understands the possibilities and limitations of photographic equipment in real-world terms, rather than marketing datasheet claims. Steve loves photography and renovating…well, pretty much anything. Steve somehow lucked into being married to the #1 partner and wife in the known universe and has an amazing daughter, who has her own family, including a devoted husband and 3 energetic sons. Throw in 3 cats, (who have their own homemade external 12’ x 12’ cat enclosure), and Steve is kept busy, entertained, and fulfilled.

The beautiful views of Lake Michigan, an undulating coastline that provides myriad angles for mid-day and sunset shots, far enough north in latitude to catch the Northern Lights, Sleeping Bear Dunes is renowned for its serenity and beauty.

With average high temperatures in July just kissing 80º F, northwest Michigan provides a nice break from our muggy southern heat.

Brad Will Meet You at the Great Lakes:

In 1864, General Sherman wrote to Abraham Lincoln that his march to the sea was complete and that his Christmas gift to the President was the city of Savanah.  The city and the surrounding area was left untouched and is still rich with beauty and culture today.  We will explore the city, Tybee Island, Wormsloe historic site, and other areas full that make this area of the country unique.  I will also bring with me the Phase One Achromatic and Leica Monochrom cameras.  Want to try some IR imaging?  Or shoot the local hanging moss with a pure B&W system?  Well I sure do!  I hope you want to join me in one of my favorite places.
