1. Start with a full resolution 16 bit TIFF in Adobe 98. This special B&W printing process loves high resolution files! Drum scans are fine. Do not resample, resize, or otherwise change resolution.
Keep your file as a full resolution 16 bit TIFF file at all times. 2. Retouch or work on your file as desired, but keep the file as a full resolution file. You may crop if desired to a particular format (e.g., 4:5 ratio) but do not resample, or change resolution. Keep as many pixels as possible! Convert your file as desired to a B&W image. (e.g., Nik Silver Efex). Your file should still be a 16 bit TIFF file. Back-up and save your file. Your computer system should be set at gamma 2.2
3. Convert the file to a single channel grayscale image. If your image file is not already in the Adobe98 color space, convert it to Adobe98 now. From Photoshop, select Image from the top menu bar, then Mode; select grayscale. Discard color information.
Flatten layers and save the image file as a full resolution16 bit Tiff file, on to a thumb drive. (USB 2 or USB3 thumb drive is fine).
4. Your image is now ready to print!
