Please join us on May 11- 13, 2018, at the Boca Raton Resort & Club, A Waldorf Astoria Resort in Florida! We will be working alongside professional photographer Barry Grossman and his team focusing on architecture.  Barry has been a professional photographer for 30 years, specializing in interiors and architecture. Learn specialized techniques to help you capture stunning architectural and interior images!

What will this workshop consist of?

Photography – Demonstration and hands-on experience with technical camera and lens systems, location lighting techniques, composition. Understanding Phase One’s XF medium format system. Exploration of the IQ3 100 Trichromatic digital back. In-depth discussion about what makes a great photograph, how to find the perfect vantage point for an interior, lens considerations, quality of light to enhance a space, styling, choosing the right time of day, understanding your subject matter.

Post-Production – In depth discovery and practice utilizing Capture One and how it can help make the most of the digital camera you already own. Working with Layers, the Advanced Color Editor, color space and camera profiles, interfacing with the Phase One system. Explanation of Barry’s processing workflow and techniques within Capture One In Photoshop, learn Barry’s methods with working with multiple ambient exposures, strobe layers, apply modes, complex masking, file preparation for output.

An amazing weekend of imaging – We will photograph in various areas within the resort. Potential areas of focus are restaurant, lobby, spa, signature suite and retail interiors. Our goal is to create memorable and beautiful photographs and explore the technical and creative aspects which drive an interior architectural photographic shoot. Conversation may also lead to business aspects of architectural photography, marketing, building one’s portfolio, and how to interact with designers, architects, advertising creatives

Meet Barry Grossman

Barry is a professional architectural and interior design photographer based in South Florida.

As a professional photographer with over 30 years experience in South Florida, Barry works closely with architects, interior designers, public relations firms and advertising agencies. Barry’s photography assignments have taken his creative team from Florida to New York, from Las Vegas to the Bahamas, from Atlanta to Cancun.  Barry’s images are consistently published, and his clients are seen internationally in books, trade publications and magazines including Architectural Digest, Florida Architecture, Florida Design, Luxe, and Miami Design among many others.

As a professional photographer, Barry brings to his work a unique background in motion picture cinematography, achieving his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Film Production from Syracuse University, and furthering his education and photographic exploration at New York University’s Graduate Film & Television masters program.  With full control of modern imaging techniques, Barry fully explores architectural photography using today’s most advanced tools, including state of the art digital cameras and photo enhancement software.
Barry’s goal is to create images that are dynamic and memorable, delivering exceptional, effective professional photography time and time again.
